Welcome to the "Project LAC" Website
The "Project LAC" purpose is to enhance small US Technology company
involvement in the Latin American and Caribbean regions (LAC). Why
should you expand your business in the LAC?
Latin America represents some of the fastest growing notable
economies across the world and larger companies have already
identified and have begun to capitalize on this growth. Smaller US
technology firms can grow their sales and profitability rapidly if
they can learn to participate in one of the fastest growing economic
regions in the world.
Additionally, the LAC regions being served will benefit
significantly from the technological advances. Therefore, this
USAID funded
project is being sponsored by the
dot-ORG
program, which is implemented by the
Academy for Educational Development.
Because the majority of the world’s economies are made up of small
businesses, they want to help promote small business interaction
between the United States and regions like the LAC.
Project Overview
The "Project LAC" mission is simple – bring smaller US Technology
companies to the LAC.
"Project LAC" will select up to 10 small US Technology companies
from across the United States to participate. These companies will be
invited to join a Trade Mission to selected areas of the LAC to get
introduced to the region and to begin business development "hands on".
Getting to the region is the first step to expanding your business.
Participants will also receive research results on doing business
in the Region in the form of a White Paper and Practical Guide.
The LAC is a broad region and technology is a broad topic, so for
the purposes of this project, we will narrow the scope of this project
to 3-5 countries in the region and up to 5 technology focuses.
However, the lessons learned from the results of this project can be
applied to the entire LAC region and all technologies.
